Acquisition Due Diligence

FMI offers due diligence services for a variety of purposes and clients, including strategic buyers and private equity firms. During acquisition due diligence, FMI works to uncover any risks, issues, and opportunities associated with the target firm. Due diligence is an investigation of the company’s financial and operational health, typically requested by investors, lenders, or acquirers to ensure that statements about the company's value are accurate.

This is a complex process that involves a detailed review of the company’s operational practices and legal and financial documents. Because FMI focuses exclusively on construction and related industries and because of our background as consultants, we have the expertise to assess the strengths, weaknesses, and operational health of our client companies.

A due diligence analysis would typically be conducted prior to the completion of:

  • Acquisitions
  • Mergers
  • Private equity investments
  • Bank loans
