Hobson is an associate with FMI Corporation, management consultants and investment bankers for the construction industry. As a member of the Investment Banking Practice, Hobson focuses on buyer and seller representations, ownership transfer issues, and valuations.

Hobson has an extensive background in finance, strategic planning, consulting, and engineering. His experience provides him with an understanding of difficult organizational, operational, and strategic issues facing the construction industry. Prior to joining FMI, Hobson was operations manager for The Godfrey Group, where Hobson managed the financial and manufacturing operations of the firm.

Before joining The Godfrey Group, Hobson was involved in evaluating merger and acquisitions targets for Progress Energy and later for a North Carolina based private equity firm. Hobson also has experience as a management consultant with Accenture in their Travel and Transportation practice. He has also worked as a practicing engineer for The Coca Cola Company.

Hobson earned a bachelor of industrial engineering with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a master in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
